Macchi from 1947 the MB.308 had success in Aeroclub


schools and was the first postwar basic trainer of Aeronautica Militare in 1950's. Upperwinged light plane built totally in wood with cloth covering had a fixed tricycle undercarriage and a 85 h.p. Continental engine with a wooden twinbladed propeller with fixed-pitch. The biplace cockpit with dual control had the doors opening upwards. All the planes were painted in aluminium with azure flashes on the sides and antiglare panel on the nose leaved on the military planes also.
A.M.I. used 80 planes, many of them at Guidonia for the aeronautical culture courses. The 308 illustrated here is preserved in Caproni Museum at Trento.
